Mountaineering in Chamonix French Alps, Mountain Guides Chamonix
Mountaineering is an umbrella term that can variously be used to describe the actions of climbing, hillwalking and scrambling. In it’s usual sense, however, it concerns the ascent of mountains of various stature, using various types and amounts of mountaineering equipment. In this latter sense it is also known as Alpinism.

Mont Blanc, highest peak of Europe, is without a doubt the most beautiful mountain in the world and every year many mountaineers try to ascend this famous French peak.
Under-estimated by many people, the ascent is a relatively simple snow route, but requires a high level of physical fitness for this very long high altitude ascent!
The summit day, the ascent and descent requires 10 to 12 hours of continuous effort!
Please note you must be experienced about using crampons and ice axe for snow and ice climbing, if not we will advice you to have some trainning with us before !

Glacier trekking day or Mont-Blanc trainning day:
Strap on your crampons for a scenic stomp acroos the frosty wasteland knwon as mer de Glace, France’s largest glacier, before attempting to climb a wall of ice! Full training in use of crampons and ice axe is provided at the start of the course.Wearing crampons and roped up for glacier travel, you can trek through some of the most breathtaking glaciers
in Europe: the Mer de Glace, the glacier d'Argentière and so many other beautiful places to discover around Mont-Blanc!
Price: 340€ for a whole day program
(1 to 3 persons + 30 € per extra person, max = 6 pax only on Mer de glace)
We can provide for free charge : Harness, ice axe, helmet, rucksack, and we can lend gloves, and headband...
If you need: you will have to rent the altitude kit: <high-mountain boots, ice axe and crampons>

Mont-Blanc: Five Day Courses.
This course is designed for people who has no previous mountaineering experience...
This preparation will ensure that you do the ascent of Mont-Blanc at the end of the week under optimum conditions.

The summit day, the ascent and descent requires 10 to 12 hours of continuous effort...
and a minimum of walking on ice and snow practice with crampons and ice axe are required !
Full training in use of crampons and ice axe is provided at the start of the course. Some rock climbing experience is useful for those non experienced climbers.
This 5 days program includes ice, snow and rock schools.
Days 1 à 3: Practice of ice and snow climbing in the Vallée Blanche and glacier du Géant area (3500m), with ascents of summits and hiking on high glaciers around 3800/4000m: Petite Verte, Tour Ronde, Aiguille du Tour…
Days 4-5: Mont-Blanc Ascent
Price : 1200€ /pers
Price include : guide fees, cable-cars during Mont-Blanc ascent and halfboard in the mountain hutt.
Not included: cable cars during trainning days, lodging in Chamonix, drinks and personnal expenses.
