Via Ferrata:    "Under Construction"

Translated from Italian, "Iron Roads" is a cross between hiking and climbing. Via Ferrata routes are built into rock faces with cables and ladders and other equipment designed to facilitate people's progression along the route and to optimize their security.
Great for families and friends who want to join in an outdoor adventure, via ferrata is a step up from alpine hiking, but doesn't demand the technical skill

of climbing. 

Using a harness and 2 slings to attach yourself to a cable you can progress along a “seemingly impossible rock face” ;0) clipped to the mountain and roped to your coach Mountain Guide specialist(UIAGM) in optimum feeling of security.
Although no real climbing ability is needed, via ferrata does demand a steady head for heights. It's a nice thrilling experience !
A great activitiy for those seeking something more challenging than just alpine hiking.
There are many areas for via ferrata in under an hour's drive from Camonix.
Ideal for everyone including beginners and children.

The route of “Passy Via-ferrata”(1/2 day trip) proceeds in calcareous cliff with south orientation, dominated by the needle of Varan.
With an accessible difficulty, the route is made of varied passages with short vertical ways up, some footbriges of cable and wood beams.
The whole of the route is a beautiful balcony dominating the valley of the Arve river with a spectacular background:

Half-day: 65€/pers.

Rates including:

Mountain Guide Specialist UIAGM, organisation.
Equipment: security harness, shock-absorbing safety line and locking carabiner, helmets and transportation for maximum 6 persons.

( For safety reasons maximum 6/7persons per guide in a Via-Ferrata)
Equipment: Lightweight hiking-walking clothes and also, as in any climbing activity, you should bring, appropriate footwear(light hikking boots or trainers) and a small backpack with supplies and a water bottle.
